Questions
How do I request an appointment?
Sign up for my email list to be notified when I'm accepting applications. All relevant information and application form links will be emailed to you when my books are open. If you're on Instagram, I also post information on my page @leannatattoos
What style of tattoos do you do?
I enjoy utilizing several different types of tattooing techniques in my work. I’ll use a combination of fine line work, illustrative, realism, and painterly tattooing styles, so it’s difficult to properly categorize my work under one definite category.
What subject matter are you most interested in?
I will only take on projects that inspire and interest me. Below is a list of subject matter I really enjoy:
- fine art & history
- florals, botanicals, fungi, fruits, & veggies
- mythical creatures & cute/creepy animals
- lady heads & stylized portraits of celebrities/characters
- vintage/retro/unique objects, especially in a realistic style
What tattoos are you NOT interested in doing?
- Tattoo coverups, reworks, or completions of work done by other artists
- Copies of tattoos by other tattoo artists
- Floral arrangements of more than 2-3 different species
- Subject matter such as clocks/stopwatches/compasses, portraits of family members/loved ones, tribal/celtic/polynesian, mandalas/geometric, crosses/Bible verses, lions or wolves, "clipart" style symbols.
Do you tattoo minors?
Nope.
Do you tattoo all skin and body types?
Absolutely! I tattoo all skin and body types and colors, with the exception of damaged or injured skin (sunburn, windburn, cuts/scratches). If the skin is damaged where the tattoo is to be placed, I will try my best to work around the damage, so long as it is healing properly and VERY minor, like a teeny scratch, mosquito bite, etc. If the damage is substantial or I can’t work around it, the design will need to be moved to another location . I can not tattoo you if your health is compromised due to illness, you are taking antibiotics or prescriptions such as Accutane, or you are pregnant/breastfeeding. I'm happy to tattoo over scars as long as they're healed and matured (around 6-12 months). If you are under the influence of drugs or alcohol, arrive sick or with damaged skin, you will be required to reschedule your appointment and forfeit your deposit.
Can I use numbing cream?
No, due to the potential risks, I do not allow the use of numbing cream prior to tattoo appointments. However, I do keep Bactine in stock for use during tattoo appointments. Bactine has a safe, low concentration of lidocaine that usually provides just the right amount of relief needed. If you show up to your appointment with numbing cream already on, your appointment will be canceled/rescheduled and deposit will be forfeited.
What is your schedule?
I operate by appointment only on Tuesdays-Fridays. Appointments usually begin at 12:00 PM. All visits to the studio must be scheduled, and I do not accept walk-ins.
Can I bring a guest to my appointment?
Yes, you may bring one guest as long as they are 18+, calm, and not a distraction. Your guest is your responsibility and should they damage any property while accompanying you, you will be held financially responsible. If your guest is wandering about the shop, creating a disturbance, or seems to be ill, they will be asked to leave.
Can I see my design ahead of time?
I do not send out custom designs prior to our appointment, but I do make sure to leave enough room in my schedule in case any minor adjustments are requested. If major changes are requested and a large portion of the design needs to be altered/redrawn, you will be asked to reschedule to another date and be required to pay a new deposit. This is extremely rare, but can be avoided by making sure your tattoo description is concise and clear if you have a very particular vision for your tattoo.
What is your pricing & deposit policy?
For customs, I charge $300 for the first hour, and $225 for each hour after that. Predrawn designs are a flat rate.
A $200 deposit is required to book and will be applied towards the cost of your tattoo. Deposits are non-refundable and non-transferable. All transactions are final.
What is your rescheduling/cancellation policy?
Should you need to reschedule your appointment, you may only do so once, and must contact me at least 4 days of (96 hours) prior to your appointment. Rescheduling more than once or giving me less than 4 days notice will result in you forfeiting your deposit and losing your appointment. If you must permanently cancel, indefinitely postpone, or no-call-no-show, you will forfeit your deposit. No-call-no-shows will not be given any future appointments. Being more than 15 minutes late to your appointment, with or without notice, will result in forfeiture of your deposit and possibly appointment.
What is your touch up policy?
If your tattoo requires a touch up, please contact me within 8 weeks of your final tattoo session. Send me a clear, well-lit photo of your healed tattoo and let me know what spots need touching up. The touch up is complimentary as long as it is needed due to something on my end, such as a line falling out or solid color not being saturated thoroughly. Touch ups are charged at my regular hourly rate on tattoos that didn't heal well due not properly following my recommended healing procedures, any type of negligence, illness or skin conditions/damage, or just long-term aging in general.
Remember that your tattoo is a part of your skin and will age just as your skin does. The better you treat your body and take care of your skin, the better your tattoos will look over time.
What payment forms do you accept?
Cash, credit, or debit. Credit/debit card transactions will incur a 4% transaction fee.
Do you expect/accept tips?
No, I do not accept monetary tips. I will of course never turn down thoughtful gifts (my favorite tips I've ever received are things like interesting books, crystals, animal bones, and art from fellow artists). If you really want to do something extra for me, I'd love for you to give Artemis Tattoo Collective a positive Google review or post your tattoo on social media and tag me so I can see!
